Who is behind NaturalHealthTutoring?

NaturalHealthTutoring is run by the Schmidt Family, a homeschooling, Christian family living “down south” in the United States. We have four children, two boys and two girls, who we have treated with natural remedies since their birth. We started this blog not only as only as a business, though that certainly is a long-term goal, but also to join the ever-widening online community of natural health enthusiasts in order to help and be helped.

Our vision is for this website is that it will be a help to those just starting down the road to natural health.  Whether you are beginning to travel this road because of personal illness, because of the health of your child, or because it is intriguing to you, we want this to be a starting place for you.  A place where you can learn and build a strong foundation without all the hype and all the fads.  A place where you can figure out just how much of this is right for you without being confused or forced into taking certain measures.  A place where you can begin to take your health into your own hands and be comfortable with it there.

One of our focal points is in the area of pregnancy. Our fourth baby was born breech

Terminology: VBAC

Breech Baby

Vaginal Birth After Cesarean – If you have already had a c-section and are pregnant again, you may want to try having a natural birth this time around.  You would then be considered to be a VBAC patient. The absolute best site I have found when dealing specifically with VBAC situations is VBACFacts.  This is [...]

Terminology: Posterior Position

Breech Baby

The baby’s spine would be right up along your spine with her face pointing up when delivered.  In this position, many women will experience back labor where much of the pain is concentrated in the lower back.

Terminology: Anterior Position

Breech Baby

This is when the baby is facing your spine.  The baby can be right or left anterior depending on which way he might be turned just slightly.  The anterior position is optimal for delivery.

Breech Baby

Baby is head down and in the “fetal position”.  The head will be in mom’s pelvis and baby’s chin to his chest. This is the best position for birth and by far most babies are born this way. Some will move into this position during labor. There are, of course, variations of this presentation, most of which [...]

Terminology: Transverse Presentation (or Transverse Lie)

Breech Baby

Transverse – The baby is laying sideways over your pelvis.  No part of the baby is engaged in the pelvis.  A baby in this position can not be delivered naturally unless she moves during delivery.  Statistics suggest that only one in every 2,000 births is in this position.

Terminology: Footling Breech Presentation

Breech Baby

Footling Breech – Baby’s head is up in your rib cage instead of down in your pelvis.  In this case, the baby’s feet are not by his head, but are down in the pelvis.  A footling breech would come out feet first.  Variations of footling include one foot up and one foot down (footling) and [...]

Terminology: Frank Breech Presentation

Breech Baby

Frank Breech (also called Incomplete) – Baby’s head is up toward your rib cage.  Her bottom is engaged in your pelvis with her feet right by her head.  If her legs are crossed instead of up by her head but her bottom is still engaged, this is called an “Indian style” frank breech.  A frank breech [...]
